Eco Pop Art @Children Carnival

Here are the caricatures I did during the Children Carnival on Saturday, 29th May 2010. It was a really good challenge, 4 hours non-stop drawing. I did 25 pieces, some are hits and some are misses. Thanks for those who took part in the charity carnival, especially those who helped me managed my booth while I was busy drawing.

Here are the caricatures and their owners:

Eco Pop Art Series

The idea is to reduce the usage of paper for obvious reason. The first in a series of the Eco Pop Art projects is to do quick 10-minute caricatures on recycled cardboards at the "Children Carnival". Its a charity event organized by The Diocese of West Malaysia for a string of orphanages. For those who are in Penang this weekend, you are most welcome to drop by.
The Children Carnival
Date: 29 May 2010
Time: 9am - 1pm
Venue: Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan Residensi

Thanks to Just Life Penang for the recycled cardboards.

Self drawing for Asian Manga Summit

A drawing I did recently for Asian Manga Summit 2009 publication. I have been a long time fan of Jack Kirby, I am doing it as a tribute to the king.

I think I look a bit dumbstruck here though :(

Birthdays

On the 22nd March, I was a caricature artist during baby Marcus's 1st birthday party. Unfortunately, I was too busy to snap any picture.

I was the caricature artist for baby Eli's 1st birthday party on the 27th April at Jarrod & Rawlins, Damansara Heights. This time I m very lucky for there is a photographer covering the event. Thanks so much to Greg Yang of Front Page Studio who is kind enough to send me some of his great shots. All pictures shown here are taken by Greg.

Its always a joy to draw children, I had lots of fun. A big thank you to Marcus and Eli's parents for having me around.

Maersk Family Day

I had a great time at Maersk Family Day. The responds was so overwhelming that I have to put in almost an extra hour. I didn't have a chance to leave my station, was drawing straight 3 hours and 40 minutes. To those of you whom I had the previlege to draw, (the left handed Princess, Spider-Man, Clark Kent and his Perompuan Melayu Terakhir among others hahahaha) thanks you so much. Sorry, I didn't managed to get all your names. If any of you happened to drop by this blog, could you please help me by sending a picture file of your caricature so that I could post it here? I would really appreciate that. It would be great if you could send any images of the caricature session to me too. I was so busy that day, I only managed to take two pics so please help ya?

Welcome to Lefty's Artwork Blog

Hey there. This would be a blog for me to post my works, works in progress and doodles. It will also be a place where I share my view about comics and graphic art. Thank you for dropping by.

Picture above is the recently published Major Zombie Comics #1. This is a companion product of Gilamon and Boundlezz's soon to be released t-shirt series: Black Xmas. If all things go well, the line of product should be available sometime in February.
